The Five Levels
Level 1 (Manual): Zero AI. All human execution.
Level 2 (Assisted): Ad hoc use. You open ChatGPT when you remember to.
Level 3 (Structured): Prompt libraries and Master Context Documents exist. Consistent output, but human-triggered.
Level 4 (Automated): AI monitors data, detects anomalies, and surfaces recommendations on a schedule (n8n/Make).
Level 5 (Autonomous): AI executes optimizations within guardrails without human approval for every action.
Consultant Protocol
In the first 30 days of an engagement, the consultant’s job is to move a client from Level 2 to Level 4. This transition is not about “better prompts”—it is about Architecture (Connectors -> Data Warehouse -> Automated Triggers).
